Data
About Us: A 4^{th} Grade Math Project
The 4^{th} graders started off the year learning about
different types of data and graphing. We
learned that there can be two types of variables: categorical and
numerical. We also learned the variables
have values.
Example: The variable would be “Eye Color” and some
possible values would be “blue”, “green”, and “brown”.
We ended our unit about data and graphs by creating our own
variables and then conducting a survey of 4^{th} grade students. Students collected data about their chosen
variable and then created a graph to represent this data.
